Sydney Moore thought that she would never see her infant son Lord again as she watched his bassinet follow the roof of her mobile home up into the funnel of a tornado.
The walls collapsed on top of her and her one-year-old son, before she had time to even cry.
Her car was completely destroyed outside, and the neighborhood surrounding her mobile home in Clarksville, Tennessee, was ruined.
After the house collapsed and she lived, she frantically looked for her boyfriend, who had been thrown by the force of the funnel and suffered broken arms and shoulders, and the 4-month-old.
In a serious voice, Moore said to WSMV, “I thought he was dead.” “I assumed he was gone and that I wouldn’t see him again.”
Then something miraculous happened.
Moore recalled, “It was like a little tree cradle.” Her infant was sound asleep in the bend of a downed tree, save for a small cut. Moore’s sister recalled thinking that it appeared as though Little Lord had been placed there and had been led through the storm by an angel.
The sister of Sydney, Caitlin, set up a GoFundMe page to assist the family in getting over the loss of their house, vehicle, furniture, and other belongings.
Many kindhearted people have helped the fundraiser to raise $68,000 of the $100,000 the family is hoping for.
