Today, August, sometimes known as “Augie,” is the oldest golden retriever still alive.
Augie is the first golden to reach the age of twenty. Quite a few have lived to be healthy seventeen, or even eighteen and nineteen.

Even though Augie has had kidney problems for a number of years and isn’t as mobile as she once was, she can still move around easily and enjoys taking walks in the yard.
