It’s common but sometimes controversial to ask someone to marry you at their wedding. There are people who think this is “special,” and people who think it takes away from the bride and groom’s day. This is what happened to someone on Reddit. He was mad that someone proposed at his wedding, but he didn’t miss the chance to get back at them.
What took place?
My brother told me he wanted to ask me to marry him at my wedding. I said no firmly, telling them it was a day for my wife and me and we didn’t want any interruptions.
My mom lost it. She said he wanted a faraway family member to be there to see the proposal. I didn’t care, and I told him he would have to leave if he did it.
He still did it. If I kicked him out, my mom said she would leave.
I was boiling over.
Instead of giving a toast at my brother’s wedding last weekend, I told everyone that we were going to have our first child.
My mom was mad, but my grandmother told her to be quiet. During the reception, we talked about having a baby with family we hadn’t seen in a while.
My mom later said I was taking attention away from my brother. When I told her she had threatened to leave my wedding, she got very angry. The text messages are proof.
