Sometimes it feels like you’re threading a needle in the dark when you’re dating. Each choice is important, and it can be hard to figure out the best course of action. In the story today, being late on a first date was the last straw.
He told his story.
“I met a woman on a dating site and we were going on a first date.” We agreed to have coffee together at 2:00 pm. I got there on time. She texted me at 2:10 to see if I was at the cafe. She told me she was at home but would leave soon and be there in 20 minutes.
Her text message made it sound like she was waiting for me to get there before she left the house. I was turned off. I was afraid she wouldn’t show up, but she did. She needs to. Do I have it wrong?
When my coffee was done, I left at 2:30. She wasn’t there yet. Sometime around 2:45, she texted me to ask where I was. “When my coffee was done, I left at 2:30 because you still weren’t there as promised,” I said. She told me I was terrible and did everything wrong in a string of mean texts. I should have texted her to let her know I was leaving, among other things.
What do women really want from men? For 45 minutes, they’re late, and the only reason they’re late is to make you wait. It looked like a test or game. In either case, she failed my tests. I’d really like to hear what the women have to say about this.”
