Scary tales of people who went with their gut and were glad they did

There are times when we really feel like something is wrong. That tingle that tells you “nope!” even though everything looks fine. It turns out that feeling can be very helpful. These 10 scary stories show what happened when people went with their gut and avoided some bad things that could have happened.

“When I was 10 or 11, I asked my mom if we could have lunch with my grandmother. Even though she wasn’t sure about it, I kept telling her that I really wanted to see my grandmother and that she would want to go to lunch that day. After lunch with my grandmother, we went to the mall. While we were there, she started slurring her words and got very confused. She was having a stroke.

Thank goodness my mom saw what was going on and quickly got her to the hospital. The doctors said they were able to stop the stroke, and she was pretty much the same afterward. A few days later, my mom told me that by making sure we went to lunch with my grandmother that day, I had pretty much saved her life. By DargoSun92 on Reddit

“I had to go somewhere, but before I did, I felt like just sitting in my car for a while.” I sat there for about two minutes and just looked around. It went away after that, and I left. While I was on the highway, I saw a crash happen not long before I was planned to arrive.

The truck blew a tire and hit some cars, which then hit some more cars. It was a mess. There were two deaths. A few others were seriously hurt and taken to the hospital. I had to wait in traffic behind the scene for two hours. I’m glad I just sat in my car and looked around before leaving. I still do that now and then when I think about that time.” The ikbenerook on Reddit

“My 3-year-old was buckled up in his car seat and all of a sudden began yelling, “Lock doors, lock doors!” To make him happy, I pushed the button. A guy then came from behind the car and tried to open the doors and get inside. Even though ours was locked, he went to the car in front of us, opened it, and began punching the driver.

That driver took off right after the lights changed, leaving the guy to stumble across the road. He was strapped into a big car seat so tight that he couldn’t see what was going on behind us. He was also in the back, so he couldn’t see the side mirrors either. strange_cowherd on Reddit

“I was 20 years old and living alone in my apartment one night.” When I heard a knock on the door, I opened it because I was ready for the cable guy. I saw an older man who wasn’t the cable guy because he wasn’t dressed in a uniform. He said he was putting in security alarms in each apartment. He knew it was a bad time and that my roommate was on the phone with her parents far away because I didn’t trust him.

I didn’t want him to think I was by myself even though she wasn’t there. “Where is she?” he asked. He looked at me funny as I shut the door and told him, “Not a good time.” The next morning, I called my landlord and asked if I could put in security alarms. She had no idea what I was talking about and didn’t agree to it. by tess2020x on Reddit

“When I was a teen, I worked for a local farmer and helped him bale hay for money. The hay would be put on a trailer, and a tractor would pull it to the barn. On the way to the barn, I usually sat in the front of the trailer, but I felt like that wasn’t a good spot, so I moved to the back.

I heard a clang as soon as I did that. The hitch had come off the tractor as it was going down a steep hill. I climbed down the back and got off easily, just in time for the trailer to flip over and fall into a gorge. The p38-lightning Reddit
