The woman let go of her cheating husband, and because she was so responsible after they broke up, he begged her for another chance.

The woman said, “Hi!” as she opened her letter. I really admire you, and I love reading about other people’s lives. Sometimes I find them so relatable that I leave comments on your page with my thoughts and suggestions. But this time, I want to tell you my own story. I never thought my life would change so dramatically in such a short amount of time.
The rest of Kelly’s letter is about her relationship with her husband Greg. The woman wrote, “I split up with my husband a year ago.” Anyway, before that, I could say I had a great relationship and marriage. Before the events that made a big difference in both of our lives, my husband and I had been married for 10 years. Together, we have two daughters, and three years ago, we bought our own big house. It was such a big deal for our family that we couldn’t stop celebrating for a while.
Everything was going so well that it was hard to believe things could get any better. But they did, and I had no idea that this would be the last time I was happy before my worst days.
Kelly was happiest in the last two years of her marriage.
Kelly’s letter goes on to say, “The last two years of my marriage to Greg were the best of our lives.” The way we felt about each other all of a sudden made it feel like we were on a second honeymoon. Greg gave me lots of love, attention, and passion. I got lots of gifts from him, and he complimented me all the time. He acted like we were just married. Every woman should be as happy as I was.”
“I had full faith in him all the time.” I had heard family stories about cheating spouses becoming the most attentive partners in the world, and some of my friends even told me to pay more attention to my husband because he started giving me lots of flowers all of a sudden. This gave my best friend the creeps. She said it could mean Greg had an affair and was feeling bad about it.
But there was no reason for me to be wary of my spouse. He had always been loving and caring, but in the last two years, his love and attention have doubled, which I thought was great.
The woman found out something shocking that caused them to break up right away.
Kelly wrote, “We certainly didn’t expect bad things to happen between us because we were so happy and in love.” You can imagine how shocked and angry I was when a woman I didn’t know called me one day. As I did my laundry and talked to my mom on the phone, I got a strange call on a different line.
I answered, even though it was a number I didn’t know, and I immediately felt bad about it. When this woman called me, she was crying very hard. She was crying so hard that it was hard for me to understand what she was saying. After she calmed down a bit, she told me her name is Emily, she’s 28 years old, and she loves Greg.
“I thought that was a bad joke, so I tried to end this pointless conversation as quickly as I could.” Then she told me something that made me speechless. She told him that she was pregnant and that Greg was the father of the child. She also said that she would do anything to live with Greg and the baby forever. She told me to end my marriage and let him go.
“I got hurt. I was broken, and I cried almost as hard as the woman at the start of her call. I was so excited for Greg to get home because I knew he would tell me everything was a lie. When he got home and I talked to him, he told me right away that everything I had heard was true. His partner Emily had been with him for more than two years, and he told her he loved her.
I asked him why he didn’t tell me everything before Emily called. He said he was afraid it would ruin me. Yes, it did. But I didn’t let him see how much pain I was in. “I chose to play one more game.”
Kelly’s smart actions made her husband deeply regret cheating on her.
Kelly said, “In secret, I was hurt and suffering, but my pride has always been the most important thing to me.” After a week, Greg moved in with Emily. When he called me two weeks after he left, he asked if he could come see our daughters. I gladly let him because they missed him. I chose to be his rock even though we were apart.
The girls didn’t say no to seeing him, that’s for sure. I tried to keep his image whole by telling them how much he loved them and what a great dad he was. I really missed Greg, but I never lost my pride. I always tried to look as calm as I could when Greg came over to my house. I smiled at him and never told him he did something wrong. One day, he fell on some ice because I didn’t act like anything had happened.
“He dropped by and told me we need to talk. He told her that he wasn’t happy with his new partner Emily from the first day they moved in together. He told me that he loved me all the time. Greg thought back to the times when I was the only thing that kept him going.
He said Emily was so different and that she was making him happy again, but this wasn’t love, and he was so very wrong. He said that when he woke up in the morning and looked at the person next to him, he saw my face. He closed his eyes every time Emily kissed him to try to remember how I smell.
“I paid attention and told him to leave.” I told him I hoped he was happy and asked him not to come near me again. Now I’m calmer because I saw how hard evil hit him in the face.
But Greg calls me all the time and begs for another chance. It’s hard for me to decide what to do because I think cheaters never change. But the lesson I taught him might have made him think again about what he sees in life. What should I do?”
