Sometimes it’s hard for parents and kids to get along. Some people, on the other hand, seem to have incredibly lucky parents who are always there for them. The sweet stories they told us make us want to cherish and hug our loved ones even more.
I was making my house. I didn’t have time to change clothes that day, so I went home in my old leather jacket, work pants, and old boots. I was covered in dust, and I had paint on my hands and stubble on my face from a week ago. A well-dressed mom and a similarly well-dressed little boy are walking toward me as I walk through an underpass.
The toddler, on the other hand, doesn’t want to behave and screams at another parental request. His mom sees me now, leans over to her son, and says, “Look at this man…” I think we’re now here. You also can’t show off your college diploma to prove that looks aren’t always what they seem to be. “If you eat well, you’ll be as big and strong as this man,” the mother says next. After they walked by, I smiled the whole way like a kid who just got a big tub of ice cream. This is Snakecatcher / Pikabu.
My dad got home from work. He came in to see my mom and me and asked, “Do you know who I just met?! It was dark, and there was only one lantern shining. A big rabbit jumped out of the bushes all of a sudden!” My mom and I are shocked. Then my dad pulls out a big chocolate bar and says, “This rabbit asked me to give you this chocolate!” I’m 24 years old, but that bunny joke still makes me laugh like I’m six! What I Heard/VK
I’m good at a lot of things because my dad raised me by himself. I can change a light bulb with ease. I can also wire things and put a car back together again. My dad taught me to love cars, and now I drive taxis. People in the back seat are staring at me as if they’ve never seen a woman drive before. These guys don’t know that I love fishing and can do push-ups on the ground! • Caramel/VK
My mom helped me get used to college by going with me. After everything was taken care of, she left late at night and gave me all of her money except for the money she needed for her bus home. I was glad that my parents weren’t watching me, so I quickly went to a party with some other students. But my mom missed the last bus and had to spend the night at the bus station because she only had enough money for a ticket and a tea and biscuit. It took me seven years to find out about it, and I cried so hard. Not everyone will get it / VK
Our parents were always honest with us about how they did things. They would not send us to our rooms if we did something wrong. Instead, they would tell us what we did was wrong and how we could improve. From Panic_Azimuth on Reddit
