These days, technology gives parents an extra set of eyes. But nanny cams have given parents more than just peace of mind—they’ve caught some really weird moments. These cameras have caught everything, from sudden guests to nannies getting up to no good.
“I babysit for these very wealthy people when I get home from college.” The boys I would watch were about 2 years old and 9 months old at the time. The younger one was taking a nap, and I took the monitor to the backyard so the two-year-old could play. It was summer weather. I hear the alarm and see hands reaching into the crib to wake up the baby. I took the two-year-old and the knife and walked slowly upstairs. There wasn’t a way for their grandmother to text me that she was there because she didn’t have my number. Everyday is Fools’ Day on Reddit.
“There was a tiny hair or thread on the monitor’s camera lens. It looked like something was moving under our son’s blanket.” Very spooky. What’s Up? / Reddit
He said, “My cousin has a Wi-Fi video baby monitor.” Her husband takes a lot of trips and likes to check on the baby at odd hours. He doesn’t want to wake up his wife, so he just logs on. He can also talk to his daughter through the microphone. That was when she was about 18 months old, but now she is two. One night she couldn’t sleep, and my cousin had to keep going to her to put her back to sleep. When she went into her room for the third or fourth time, she heard a man’s voice talking to her crying baby. It wasn’t her husband. Because of this, she changed the password and told other parents to do the same. “Scary stuff.” thesheilador on Reddit
“Just me.” I went into his room and told him, “Don’t cry, Daddy is here.” When we got back to my room, I heard my monitor say, “Don’t cry here.” I was scared and shocked as I saw a tall man take my baby and leave because my voice sounded so strange to me. In that one second, I realized I was holding him and that the video was of me, but I looked like I had 10 years of gray hairs go away. Reddit’s ClassicCarLife page
“Don’t worry, our crib was under a window that was closed and locked.” About once every few days, a hawk or some other big bird would land on the window sill. My daughter and the bird would just sit there and nod their heads at each other for ten minutes. Even though the bird probably wanted to eat her, it was cute. Iniquity on Reddit
