A parent told admin about me because my clothes “distracted” her son.

Being a teacher can be hard in ways you don’t expect, especially when it comes to how other people see you. A parent recently told the school that their son was being distracted by a middle school teacher who was known for always following the dress code and getting compliments on her clothes.

The woman told her story.

My name is Mary, and I teach eighth grade at a middle school. There aren’t many words to describe how big my chest is; it’s hard to hide. In the six years I’ve been in school, I have never been told what to wear because I always follow the rules. Everyone always says nice things about my clothes!

A parent told admin about the woman.

A parent came up to my admin and told them that their son was talking about my breasts at home. They were worried that I wasn’t following school rules because he could see them. The person in charge of my school told the parent that I always follow the dress code and that I am “blessed.” Just because I’m a curvy girl, I can’t hide it.

The admin was very helpful.

I was told by the administrator that it was “naturally blessed.” That’s how women talk. I’m not sure if that’s how she told the parent.

The comment didn’t bother me, but I can see why other people wouldn’t like it. The way we understand this statement might be different because of our culture. She was very, very helpful to me, and I never got the sense that she was on the parent’s side during that whole conversation.

She doesn’t know who told on her.

They didn’t tell me who the kid or parent was, so I don’t know. I believe that is better because I am afraid that I would feel weird around the kid if I found out. I think it’s better for me not to know and keep going because I know the admin has my back and I’m doing the right thing.
