No matter how much we plan or guess, we can never be sure of what will happen. Things that happen in life or the actions of other people often catch us off guard. Even though these surprises aren’t always fun—sometimes they’re even scary—they often teach us important lessons and, over time, they can become funny stories.
“When I got home, my boyfriend was already asleep.” When I went to the bathroom, I was shocked to see him taking a shower there. I yelled, “There’s someone in our room!” out of fear. He turned pale and told me to hurry to the car, lock it, and call the police.
I found out later that day that my boyfriend had been cheating on me for two years and always had his mistress over while I was at work. It broke my heart. I caught him that day when I got home early.
He lied to me by making it sound like there was someone breaking into our house and I needed to leave and call 911. He could have just woken her up and told her to leave.
Lucky for me, I chose to hide behind the bushes instead of going to the car and saw a woman leave. He got kicked out that day, of course.”
