Everyone tries to avoid that uneasy, stomach-turning feeling, but sometimes it’s impossible to get away. This person went through something so horrifying that the memory still haunts them, leaving an impression they can’t get rid of, no matter how much time has passed.

“A new coworker brought a “chicken casserole” to the office potluck and made us all try it.” After a while, everyone got sick and left, but I stayed because I hadn’t eaten it. At that point, I smelled something awful coming from her desk.

I opened the drawer and found dozens of empty mayonnaise packets in the back. The heat had caused them to spill out. Some of them were empty and open.

She had used them to make the creamy sauce, which most likely made everyone sick. There were also other disturbing things in the drawer, like fingernails and dirty napkins.

She had only been with the company for a few weeks and at first didn’t seem dirty. I usually don’t tell on people, but I had to tell HR about it. After a week, she was fired.
