My husband cheated on me and even brought with him a child from a different relationship.

Finding out that your partner has been cheating on you is a terrible feeling that destroys all trust and commitment in a relationship. This time, the situation was even more heartbreaking.

She told us what happened.

Roger, my soon-to-be ex-husband (F53), came home with a baby four months ago. I forgive him for having an affair. When his girlfriend of 22 years old could take it no longer, she took the baby to work with her and then left. He thinks she is in Spain from what he knows. He was welcome to stay as long as I didn’t have to do anything. Anything.

Roger did have a heart attack about a month ago. Shame on them for not killing him, but he is very weak and can’t do anything for himself. He can’t take care of his child because he’s not moving around. He also can’t take his son to and from daycare.

I have helped, but now I’m done. My kids are now adults. I won’t be getting grandchildren any time soon. I don’t want to take care of a baby.

Roger and I agreed to get a divorce, and I called the mother’s parents. Friends of mine know the father. I told them they had until Friday to get their grandchild or I would call Child Protective Services. The baby was with them when they left. However, I got in trouble for being so mean to a baby that hadn’t done me any harm. I have a different opinion of that kid.

Roger is getting better, and I’m leaving. The house is in his name, but I have never put any money into it. I have saved enough money to cover rent and interest for twenty-two years. Also, our prenup says that my savings are mine. I already have a job, and I don’t need anything else from this marriage.

They wanted me to stay and help their dad. I told them they could come over and help him clean up and take care of the baby. Both turned down what I thought was a fair offer.

I don’t think I’m in a bad mood. Some of our shared friends, Roger, our kids, and his child’s family think I am, though. Maybe writing this down and reading the answers will help me understand better.
