A lot of people think that plot twists come from the imaginations of screenwriters and are interesting because they are so far from reality. But sometimes, life throws us surprises that are better than anything the most creative writers could have thought of. And the stories we’ve put together below are strong proof.
I looked for a job once. I was still very new to my job. Some of my work was brought along along with prototypes I made. I didn’t get the job. I got a new job and started it. After 6 months, they called and asked me to come in for an interview for the job that was above the one I had applied for. I got the job right away and worked there for almost ten years. People at the company told me that the guy whose job it was (and who would have been my boss if he hired me in the first place) had told them that the samples and work I did were too good for him and that he didn’t want an employee who knew more than him. I guess that doesn’t bother him anymore since they fired him and hired me instead.
I liked a guy I met online. He lived less than two hours away from where I live, I learned. We get together. It was our first time seeing each other’s faces. We look exactly like each other! It turns out that his dad is the older brother of my real dad. Before we were born, both of our biological dads left us. Genetically, both of us are allergic to soy and can’t handle protein. We’re only a year apart in age.
When I was a sophomore in high school, a lot of things were stolen in class. We didn’t have a hall monitor or cameras in the halls because the school was small. This kid stole from other kids’ backpacks for months until the gym teacher caught him in the act. My class ran outside to see what was going on because there was a lot of noise in the hallways. The thief was the son of the principal.
This high school friend of mine has a really weird brother who likes to play online games as a girl to get free stuff from other people. I moved to a different state after I graduated. When I went back to see my friend last winter, I was hanging out at her house when I saw her brother’s laptop open in the game room and pictures of this girl on the desktop. He said they were random pictures of a girl who posted on Reddit. However, she hasn’t used her account in years, so he was using them to “prove” to someone that he was a girl in the game he was playing. It blew my mind. That “random” girl went to my school and was in my class.
I used to work as a barista. There was this very good-looking man who came in often. He was always interested in me. I picked up on hers. He comes in one day with… his wife! I became mean to him after that because I felt betrayed. After a month, he comes back with a copy! He has an identical twin, which is too bad because I had already ruled out any chance I had with the single one.
