It turned out that Theresa didn’t know everything about Tim.

She said, “From the beginning of our relationship, there were no secrets between me and Tim.” I thought that. With my husband, I told him everything about my past relationships, and he did the same. I didn’t really get in the way of Tim’s “artistic mess” because he cleaned his room by himself. But one time, I changed the sheets in his room while he was away on a long business trip. All of the pictures in it were taken while Tim was in college. I had never seen this album before, so I began to look through the pictures out of genuine interest.

When Theresa looked through her husband’s old album, she found out something shocking.

It shocked Theresa to learn that many photos of Tim were with a pretty girl. It turned out that she was in his group, but their relationship was anything but friendly. Tim was passionately kissing and hugging her in every picture. This was upsetting for me because I had never heard of Tim having a relationship like this before, and he told me that while he was in college, he had no relationships and spent all of his time studying for his degree.

As I was about to close this album and move on, I thought that my husband could still keep some of his past relationships from me because they didn’t have any effect on our marriage or relationship. Then I saw a picture that shocked me to the core. It was the same girl from college, but there was a date on it, which meant it was taken not long ago. The girl looked ten years older, and she was holding a child. The most heartbreaking thing I learned was that the kid looked just like my husband. The kid did look a lot like our younger son, who looks just like his dad. I couldn’t say anything.

Theresa called the woman in the picture and told her the terrible truth.

She said, “On the back of one picture, I saw that Tim had written the names and phone numbers of his group members.” I also found the woman’s name and phone number.

It was a pleasure to talk to her after I called her and introduced myself. She didn’t seem surprised at all, like she was waiting for my call. We met at a small fast-food restaurant close to our house, and as soon as we said hello, she started telling me crazy things.

Because it turned out, Tim had been living two lives since the first day we met. He kept going out with her even though he was seeing me. Then he picked me to be his wife because it seemed like a “more practical decision” since this woman thought she couldn’t have children. I was healthy, so Tim chose me because I could be a mother.

These trips were not at all business trips that he had been taking. He stayed with her for weeks and then came back to me and pretended to have a happy family life.
