My parents dropped my toddler off at the pool by themselves because they can’t swim.

Hero’s don’t always wear capes. They show up in swimsuits sometimes and just in time. This was the case of one woman only. She pulled into the driveway, tired from a long day at work, and thought about a nice evening with her 3-year-old. Instead, what she saw made her blood run cold: her daughter swimming by herself in the pool.

She sent us a message:

“My parents live in a house with a big pool.” They were happy to watch my 3-year-old child when I asked them to.

When I got home from work, I saw my kid in the pool by himself. She wore a swimming ring and splashed around in the water. It looked like she was getting through the ring all of a sudden.

My parents were gardening, so they couldn’t hear me when I yelled to get their attention. My daughter would have gone under if I hadn’t rushed to the pool. The ring wasn’t tight enough. Even worse, neither of my parents can swim!

I told them I would never let them watch my kid again. They told me something silly. “Babies are born to swim,” they said. “How can I show them they’re wrong?”
