The man I was engaged to didn’t feel bad about cheating on me, and he still wanted me to have his child.

Behind the perfect relationship they seemed to have, there was a terrible betrayal that broke her heart. This is the story of how one woman dealt with heartbreak, lying, and the difficulties of finding out she was pregnant without planning to.

She began to tell her story.

I’m not sure how to start. My fiancé told me not long ago that he had been cheating on me for more than a year. We’ve been together for seven years now.

He told me he didn’t want to keep dating me after he admitted it, which broke my heart. We were in love in high school, so the fact that he told me with his new girlfriend made it hurt even more. He brought her into the house we bought together, which made me feel bad.

I had planned to tell him I was pregnant on his birthday, which was coming up soon. He always wanted a big family, with at least five kids. I didn’t want to have kids, but I wasn’t against the idea either.

As soon as he broke up with me, I knew I didn’t want to carry the pregnancy any further. I could not imagine being a co-parent or raising a child by myself. Even though I have a stable job, I know that some people will think my choice was selfish, but my health had to come first.

When he broke up with me, I told him I was pregnant. His reaction seemed to show that he felt bad about what he did. He said he was okay with shared custody, but I didn’t say anything back.

After a few days, I chose to have an abortion. So I told him the truth: I didn’t want to see or talk to him again. I didn’t want to give him false hope. He texted me about my choice and then called me to question it and sound disappointed: “Why would you do that?!” He said I should have talked about having kids sooner because I knew he wanted them.

My choice makes me feel torn. But I don’t like the thought of giving birth and having his baby in general. The thought of having a child with someone who broke my heart makes me feel worse. I feel like a bad person right now. And only he knows about the abortion. No one else does.
