Every part of a family is different and brings its own set of problems. A lot of people are happy about getting a new family member. But when unintended pregnancies happen over and over again, it can put a strain on even the strongest family ties.

One man said what was going on with him.

My sister had her first child when she was 15 years old and her second when she was 17. I now have kids with them. They had me as a guardian, and then I adopted them.

I didn’t want kids, but now I have three. One biological: what a mistake! That was the worst thing I’ve ever done. I love her more than anyone else. Maybe her two brothers and my wife.

Let me make it clear that I don’t care how many guys my sister dates. My only job is to clean up after her.

She is 25 years old now and pregnant again. It turned out that her “boyfriend” (47) was married, and he left when she told him.

The people in my family have pretty much given up on her. They won’t be giving her anything, then. She came over to cry about her life.

I told her I would help her if she ended the pregnancy and tied her tubes. It made her think I was crazy to suggest abortion. Or that she can’t have a family.

I agree that I’m a bad guy. She asked for gas money as she was leaving. She knew what to do to get my help, I told her.

She said she thought that $20 was for gas, not real help. I told her she didn’t need that help if it wasn’t real, and I shut the door on her.

For a week, she’s been trying to change my mind, but I’m done. I love that woman, but I’m not going to have another child for her.
