Some things happen so rarely that they make us wonder if we are living in a fake reality. These strange events can range from strange coincidences to surreal cases of déjà vu. It doesn’t matter if you believe in the supernatural, parallel dimensions, or just a bunch of strange coincidences. The stories below will make you think about what reality is really like.
1. There was a miscarriage when my wife was pregnant. After that, we were so lucky to get pregnant again quickly and have a beautiful, healthy girl. One day, when our daughter was 5, she came to me with wide eyes and told me about a vivid dream she had. In the dream, a mysterious girl told her that she was her older sister but didn’t get to be her sister in this life.
The girl was sad that she never got to meet my wife and me or be her sister, according to our daughter. The whole thing gave me chills because I swear we never told her about the miscarriage.
2. My husband was out with his friends last night, leaving me home with the dogs by myself. So I could open the door for him, I told him to text me when he was on his way. He had left his house keys at home. I was reading around 11:30 p.m. when I heard my husband say, “Hey babe,” at the door. I said, “Yeah, one second,” but the dogs didn’t move.
He usually says something like, “No worries,” so I was surprised when he didn’t answer. When I saw that he hadn’t answered, I stopped moving. When I texted him, he said he was still with his friend. What I felt after saying “one second” was horrible fear—my blood ran cold for some reason I don’t understand. It took me an hour to calm down. After about two hours, my husband got home. I’m sure it was his voice only. © Reddit user Timely-Discussion90
3. I was going to meet my mom, but there was only one road, and my mom and I were both walking and calling each other to say where we were. We never met, though. She told me she had already gone by this when I told her, “Mom, I’m here and here.” Since it was bright outside and my mom had dark red hair, it was hard to miss. There were also not many people on the path. When Mom and I met, she hugged me extra tight because she thought we would never see each other again… From Reddit user Forsaken_Piglet7517:
4. My sister was coming from out of town to see me, so I chose to sleep before she got here. I heard her voice say, “I’m here,” while I was sleeping. I woke up quickly and called her to find out where she was. That’s when she said she’d be there. From DaSpatula505 on Reddit
5. I was leaving work in my car when I saw two coworkers walking to the parking lot together. But as I got closer, I saw that there was only one of them. I later told her that the other worker was no longer visible to me. She was shocked and said she had been with the other coworker the whole time, waving goodbye to me and not understanding why I didn’t notice her. From Ok-Towel-1296 on Reddit
6. My wife and I were hiking in New Mexico up to the top of Sandia Peak. She was following me along the trail. I turned around to talk to her, but she was gone. POOF. Gone, not to be seen anywhere.
I went crazy and began yelling her name. Just as I turned around to face forward, she spoke up from behind me and asked, “Why are you yelling at me? “I’m right here!” She followed me the whole time. I believed I was having a stroke. ObjectReport and Reddit
7. I heard my stepmom greet the dogs as she walked through the front door one day. She then asked, “Do you all want to go outside?” Since the dogs were mean, I came out of the bathroom ready to meet her. But there was nothing there and no one. The dogs were out in the living room, out of breath. I ran away right away. After that, for weeks, both my dad and stepmom could hear the other calling their names. The other spouse would look confused because they hadn’t said anything when they went to answer. Written by Illustrious_Pickle78 on Reddit
8. I was waiting for my sister to come play Legos with me a year ago in her room. Her steps got pretty close to where I was, and then I heard her leave. But I thought she was right next to me because the floor felt like it was shaking, so I tracked her. When I got to the living room before her, I heard her ask our mom if I was home.
