6 Strange Events That Made People Say “I Won’t Get Over This!”

Some events don’t make sense and leave us with more questions than answers. It could be a strange story from a reliable source or a scary event we personally experienced—we remember these kinds of strange events. Like the people in this article who shared their stories with a huge audience online, talking about them can help you feel better and heal.

1. One time, my son told me, “Mommy, at night, a big man comes to my room.” Tell him to leave. I ignored it. I woke up at 3 a.m. the next week to a noise coming from his room. When I got there, he was sitting on his bed, looking out the window, and talking to himself. In the lit-up room of the apartment across the street, I caught a glimpse of what looked like a person.
When I looked more closely, I saw that it was just the way a lamp and some furniture were set up casting a shadow that looked like a person. I let out a sigh of relief and sat down next to my son to reassure him that no one was going to come into his room. He fell asleep, and I took one last look to make sure it was just a light trick.

2. One time, my boyfriend and I were sitting on the couch together when I heard the words “I love you.” My boyfriend then told me, “I love you too.” I had no idea what was going on because I hadn’t said “I love you.” I kept my mouth shut.
Though I remember hearing and feeling the vibrations of words and sounds, neither he nor I were the ones who made them. The voice didn’t belong to anyone outside the window or in the room with us; it came from right in front of my face. It was scary. It still makes me think. © Reddit user TenderN***leBender

3. I remember a red and yellow snake-like thing made of socks very clearly. Its mouth looked like a lamprey and its arms and legs were thin and made of bone. I now think these things are hallucinations, which I still have, but I will never forget what it looked like. Not a known author/Reddit

4. I had green eyes and blonde hair, and a man tried to buy me from my parents when I was 4. I was on a trip abroad. The man grabbed me and tried to bargain with my dad, but my dad was a big guy and grabbed me back. We quickly left that area. © Reddit user lurkashrae

5. When I was seven, I went to our campground and got into the wrong car. I waited for my dad to get to the car because I thought he was still putting away our site. Someone who wasn’t my dad got behind the wheel and started the car. They were about to leave without noticing I was there. The man was very surprised when he saw a strange seven-year-old girl in the car when I asked him a question. When I saw he wasn’t who he said he was, I screamed, said I was sorry, and booked it. 6. The house my ex-wife and I bought was built in the 1930s. We painted some baseboards in the basement while we were remodeling and let them dry overnight. If we looked at them again in the morning, it looked like someone had taken a sharp knife and dragged it down two baseboards that were almost 8 feet long. The “blade” had cut through the primer, the new paint, and even the wood. We were the only ones in the house. dBasement on Reddit
