Since Marta is a grandmother who has always been proud of family values and traditions, she doesn’t agree with the brave decisions her grandson has made. She doesn’t feel like she knows the boy she used to know because of her bright blue hair, piercings, and even tattoos. People don’t like how Marta tried to “fix” things by herself, but now her family is against her.
This is her story:
Hello,
I never imagined I’d be writing in about this, but I just don’t know what else to do. When my grandson came over with that bright blue hair, I almost couldn’t recognize him. He’s always been such a handsome boy, but now with all that colour and those piercings, I hardly know who he is anymore. It’s like he’s trying to turn himself into someone else. I felt embarrassed, even thinking about bringing him to my friends with me. What would people say?
So, in a moment of desperation, I did something I’m not proud of. I mixed a little bleach into his shampoo – nothing harmful, just enough to make the color fade. I thought it would help him see reason and bring back the boy I remember. But, of course, he noticed. Now he’s furious, and my daughter is even more upset, saying I’ve crossed a line.
I didn’t mean to hurt him; I just wanted to fix what I thought was a terrible decision. Was it really so wrong to try and guide him back to looking like himself again? I’m starting to wonder if I’ve overstepped, but all I wanted was to restore a little sense of decency.
Sincerely, Marta
