When a foster child shows a woman about her house, the child says something that completely breaks her heart.

The heartwarming tale of a foster mother who took in a 2-year-old kid is going viral.

Jamie, a foster mom, has described her experience of taking in a 2-year-old daughter who had previously been in four different homes, according to HealthyPage.

Before coming to live with Jamie, the young girl, who had only been in the foster system for five months, had resided in four different homes. Jamie wanted to make sure the naive girl had a better experience, even if the child was already accustomed to life as a foster child.

The foster parent was taken aback by the young girl’s statement after only a few minutes of being in the house.

Jamie’s message, which was published on the Love What Matters Facebook page, detailed the experience:

She smiles and enters with assurance. She is familiar with the process. She has been in foster care for five months out of her two years of life. She has been in four different homes during her five months in care. I drop to my knees and greet you, my love. Jamie is my name. Thank you very much for staying with us. Would you like to visit the children?

The other children serve as our small home’s concierge, tour guides, and welcoming committee (“You’re here! Do you want to see your bed? Do you want a baby doll? Do you want a snack? I love you!”). They’re the key to a new child feeling at home.

Nothing makes me feel prouder of my bios than watching them do this. Nothing makes my fosters feel more like “mine” than watching them follow suit.

She wanders around with the other kids for approximately 11 minutes before she runs into the room with a smile and says, “Look, mommy!” To me. The woman she met 11 minutes before.

To this little girl, “mommy” meant the female adult of the house, the lady who reached something you couldn’t and refilled your juice. Having five “mommies” in five months, she hadn’t yet had the chance to learn what mommy meant.

Mommy meant teaching ABCs, kissing skinned knees, and dozing off on shoulders. Mommy meant sitting outside of dressing rooms, chatting about friends, and helping with homework. Mommy meant cuddling grandchildren, hugging on wedding day, and taking pictures at graduation. Security was what Mommy meant. Mommy meant dedication. Love for life was what Mommy meant.

However, she was just two years old, and her original mother was making a lot of effort to get her back, while a foster mother was prepared to take over if she was unable to. This young girl hoped to forget that mother could ever be only a name and to discover that mommy is more than just a term for a woman who helps you. This young daughter would understand what her mother was saying. This young child would have a mother.

The touching post quickly went viral, garnering more than 20,000 likes and nearly 2,000 shares.
